General Contracting

The Kidd Group has offered general contracting services since 1987 and we have an extensive list of completed projects and clients, most of which are repeat clients. Due to our tenure in this industry and our focus on building relationships, we have developed a network of subcontractors that we trust. They repeatedly provide competitive bids and complete work for us with excellence and under tight timelines.

We will manage your construction project with our subcontractors under one of two design methods: Design-Build or Construction Management. Our projects range from tenant improvements and finish-out work to small- to medium-sized new construction projects.

Design-Build

Design-Build

The Kidd Group believes the Design-Build methodology offers a more efficient and cost-effective way to deliver construction projects. With Design-Build, you work with a single point of contact and only manage one contract verses multiple contracts and points of contacts with the traditional project delivery method. The designer and contractor work together from the beginning to provide unified project recommendations that fit your schedule and budget. Any changes are addressed by the entire team, leading to collaborative problem-solving and innovation and eliminating excuses and blame-shifting.

Planning And Design

The Kidd Group works with you to understand your vision for your project. We bring experts to the planning process at the beginning to ensure everyone understands the project goals. With our extensive network of industry partners, we connect the right architects, designers, engineers, subcontractors, and others as appropriate to create the perfect space to meet your needs. By doing this, we accurately set expectations and establish the project scope for everyone involved in the project.

Permitting and Scheduling

Once the design and drawings are final, The Kidd Group begins the permitting process. We produce the construction documents needed to file for permits and submit them to the appropriate city departments. We then create the construction schedule and ensure all stakeholders have agreed to the timeline.

Bidding and Subcontracting

After the final construction documents are complete, we select the right subcontractors for your project. With over three decades of experience working with subcontractors, we have a vast network of trusted subcontractors we work with who provide the best quality of work for our projects.

Construction

The construction phase is the exciting part. This is where you see your vision become a reality. The Kidd Group ensures the work is completed to the standards of excellence you expect. We communicate with you regularly to provide status updates on key milestones. We are closely engaged with all other project stakeholders to help eliminate change orders due to the lack of frequent communication.

Delivery And Beyond

After the construction phase is finished, the punch list items are completed, the project site has been cleaned, and the final walk-through exceeds your expectations, The Kidd Group will turn your space over to you. However, we don’t walk away after that. We are available should you have any questions and we guarantee our work. We pride ourselves in our work and will do whatever is required ensure you are satisfied with the final product.

The Kidd Group offers Construction Management services for owners who wish to keep the design and construction management contracts separate. We oversee the construction of your project and work closely with the architect and designer you choose to provide input on the feasibility of the design, schedule, and cost before the design is complete. We have offered these services since 1987 and have an extensive list of completed projects and repeat clients based on our ability to deliver the final product on time and within budget.

Budgeting and Schedules

At The Kidd Group, we have experts at bid tabulation and construction scheduling. We will work with you from the early stages of planning to the final stages of construction completion and project turnover. We provide insight into how your budget is spent with a highly accurate timeline of when the work will be completed.

Safety

The safety of your team, our workers, and anyone who steps foot on the jobsite is of the utmost importance to us. We take great precautions to protect not only all individuals who work on or visit the job site, but also the surrounding environment and existing conditions. Jobsite security and safety is a daily priority for our construction managers.

Construction Documents and Permitting

The Kidd Group will handle the completion of all required construction documents you may need. We will also take care of the permitting process on your behalf. We all know paperwork is no fun, so we are happy to take this off your hands!

Material and Lead-Time Management

Ensuring that all materials are on the jobsite at the right time is crucial to executing the carefully planned construction schedule. The Kidd Group has experts at material and lead-time management and will work to make sure the materials and fixtures are available to keep your project on schedule.

Construction Coordination

Coordinating the project – from material ordering to subcontractor management – is key to guaranteeing the project runs smoothly and the work is completed in a timely manner. Our team of construction managers have decades of experience successfully coordinated all aspects of our projects.
